Halstead Grange; On The Move!

By Laura Parker / Marketing Suite / 07th November 2018

One of Focus Experiential’s first timber frame modular buildings, Halsted Grange’s marketing suite in Goff’s Oak is on the move to Bishops Stortford! The luxury suite is relocating and getting a serious interior refresh too.

A Little Background

Taylor Wimpey North Thames requested the design, build, and install of the marketing suite within an 8-week build programme; the modular reusability feature and the premium wood finish was the selling point of the design. Click here to view the full case study.

The Move

The dismantle, move and re-install took 3 weeks, which is half the time we would usually take to build a brand-new marketing suite.

" no cranes were required in either the dismantle or re-erection"

Every detail was considered when it was dismantled by a specialist timber frame team by hand ensuring the premium wood finish was protected. In its kit form transport was easy and no cranes were required in either the dismantle or re-erection.

The Dismantle Process In Action:

The Glulam timber frame which was used in the suite is entirely reusable. The structure has the ability to be taken apart, packed and moved to another location quickly and efficiently.

Glulam has a real natural vibe to it and is as strong as steel, which makes it the perfect choice to have as a focal point throughout the suite.

"The desirability to have a modular build is the re-usability benefit, the flexibility and the time saving aspect"

The dismantle was extremely successful, particularly when it came to the beams. We ensured the Glulam frames were super easy to transport, due to their size and weight. This then eliminated any road closures or escort vehicles being involved in the process.

The desirability to have a modular build is the reusability benefit, the flexibility and the time-saving aspect. All the interior can be reused in Taylor Wimpey’s new marketing suite, including all the structure, windows and even the pergola which links the unit to the garage. We knew the roof wouldn’t be usable which we had already factored into the to the redesign process.

The Rebuild Process In Action:

Interesting fact! The stylish suite caught the eyes of a resident Tottenham football player who asked if he could have the suite in his back garden… although we couldn’t quite offer them the same, we were able to offer them our POD.

Spot the marketing suite? This is now an empty space where the vibrant Halsted Granges’ marketing suite once lived!

What Are The Benefits of Having a Modular Build?

  • Reusability
  • Saves money
  • Flexibility

There’s no reason why Taylor Wimpey couldn’t use this process again when relocating for a third time! The only thing that would need a refresh is the roof.

Stay tuned for part two of our blog post, where we will be updating you on the internal fit-out element! Here you will see a space transformed, comparing the Goff’s Oak design to the newly refreshed marketing suite. Here’s a sneak peek to keep you guessing.
